4N shadow root
Then pulled through the ends with 7CB, 7C and 8WG and while that’s a pretty warm formula she wanted to see more red

I don’t always nail it on the first try but you bet I’m gonna do what I can (as long as time allows) to get you what you want!

So grabbed that 8CR to punch more of that red in there and so glad we did! 😍

As I continue to work on self care for myself just as a woman and a mother, I’ve realized how important mental health self care is for me as a hairstylist.

I’ve seen such harsh hate and stern criticism for stylists online and all I can think is how sad… how sad that we cannot encourage stylists to keep going in the face of the work itself, the pain of the world and their very own personal challenges.

I know many would say “keep your personal and professional problems separate” to which I say- in a perfect world where I am a robot, that would absolutely be possible. But I’m not, instead I am a flawed human just doing my best.

I will always show up to work on my clients to the best of my ability. But there are many facets to this business:
- when I am working on clients, I am not working on admin or education
- When I am working on education I am not making money, I’m investing in myself and my craft
- When I am working on marketing, I am not working on clients or education

Everything affects other parts. When one thing is being worked on, the rest is not. And as a whole person, not JUST a hairstylist, when I’m tending to my personal life and family, my business isn’t being tended to. We need to be allowed to give ourselves grace as we try to juggle it all.

And all of that requires me to be away from my daughter who is the most important person in my life and whom I do this all for in the first place.

I could go on… but I hope this year, with all the pain and hardship going on in the world.. and the heaviness we feel daily when we look out to what’s going on in society, trying to show up as our best self while walking around with broken hearts… I hope this year we can give ourselves and each other just some grace…

Take the burden off your shoulders and put it down.. everything will be ok. I promise 🖤🙏🏽✨

Reinstalling 2 rows of genius wefts and refreshing color on my coworker @jenna_alebian 💕

This took me 3 hours total (we did dad a break for lunch and other small breaks that added on another hour lol) but for straight work it was 3!

1.5 hours to remove/color/blow-dry
1.5 hours to reinstall 2 rows and style

I changed her placement slightly to get some more fullness toward the front since the stylist who installed these left them more level (which is not a bad thing! Just a different placement) I thought we would angle the corners up so the hair falls more toward the face filling in the sides.

Colored her with an alkaline demi rather than permanent since we’re were only deepening a few grays and evening out her tone. With a permanent root retouch color this would probably take an additional 25 minutes of processing time.

Overall we got her to a nice place with solid color and fuller hair! What do you think??
